The International Food Design Experience, Conference and Studio was a three day forum for chefs, designers and food lovers from New Zealand and internationally to explore and practice the latest food design techniques held in Dunedin from 2-4th July.

As a conference sponsor, Silver Fern Farms held a workshop showing how we draw upon design to meet consumers’ demands for inspirational food experiences. Workshop participants were given a live demonstration from an accredited Silver Fern Farms Master Grader and then had the opportunity to try their hand themselves – by grading a 180kg prime beef carcase using the science-backed Silver Fern Farms Eating Quality System looking for the markers of taste, tenderness and juiciness.

Finally, award-winning chef Michael Coughlin of leading Dunedin restaurant, Pier 24 conducted a cooking masterclass with participants using Silver Fern Farms Premier Selection Reserve beef.
